I also congratulate them and appreciate the mentorship they have provided to you during the period of your study.

In addition, I would like to take this opportunity to appreciate the guests who have come to celebrate with us. We are honoured by your presence amidst us.

I acknowledge the contribution of University staff who have laboured to create an enabling environment to the students hence ensuring their success which we celebrate today.

The men and women graduating today represent the cream of our society. They comprise 29 Masters, 376 Undergraduates and 239 Diplomas. We are proud of them and are confident that they will not only be successful in their careers but will also play a role in making a better society.

One of our core functions is to promote and defend intellectual and academic freedom, scholarship, innovation and relentless search for the truth. To achieve this the University Council has allocated funds to enable staff and students to engage in research activities aimed at providing solutions to societal problems.

Management is committed to making the institution a world class institution. To attain high quality service delivery several projects are being undertaken in the University. Currently the University is automating its services with the installation of Enterprise Resource Programme (ERP) which will enhance on-line access to services. The University is also undertaking the construction of more lecture theatres to meet the needs of the increasing number of students.

On improvement of service delivery, the University management has embarked on training of all staff based on ISO 9001: 2008 Quality Management Standards where customer expectations are embraced and prioritized. We continue to embrace ISO standards to guarantee our clients the best services.

I would like to thank the Chancellor, Prof. Richard Musangi, University of Kabianga Council through the Chairman, Dr. Florence Nyamu for their continued support and efforts towards making the University of Kabianga a centre of innovation and excellence.
